Update: Apparently Richard Hammond wanted the filmers to carry on filming so he could do a report in the helicopter, he wasn't allowed though. Jeremy also said that he made a joke insulting his driving and Hammond smiled. That must also mean that in the night he has been awake again.
Jeremy also says that the only visible injury he has is a black eye. My dad reckons that Richard possibly won't be on TV again because he could quite possibly be in a wheelchair. He also said, because people are complaining about the things included on the show that Top Gear could be scrapped forever. I'm going to think differently to my dad, just to be on a positive note. Top Gear is due to start again on October 8th. Don't know if it will though.
He did race that though. And since that only went about 50mph he still wouldn't be skilled racing a 300mph jet car, even if he had driven the kayak.
Oh by the way my mum is watching that program about smacking kids so there won't be any more updates posted on here from me tonight. I'll kindly give the computer to my sister in the morning though and jot down any updates then post them here quickly in the morning.
They're better than the papers. And he is an amateur involving jet powered cars. Find me 10 more occasions where he's raced in a jet powered car. There aren't 10 more occasions. There aren't 5 other occasions. Therefore he's an amateur at that.
Sky News Update: Talking about thrill seekers now. There was a psychotherapist on and an extreme sportsman on. I only caught what the psychotherapist said. Sometimes people want to try new things and get a thrill but sometimes they push just a bit too hard.
News update from Sky News: I only caught a tiny bit of the update there but the BBC and HSE are wondering if it was a good idea to put an amateur in a 300mph capable car with pretty much no experience of them speeds.
Rightly so I say. They shouldn't have done it.
I'll keep checking the news channels nightly for news updates to keep you up to date with the condition of Hamster.
New news from Sky News: A reporter said that medics are optimistic he'll make a good recovery, then pointed out that they didn't say full recovery. 2 Emails were shown, one on 8th September saying "Get the presenter up to speed then see if he can break the record". The other on 13th September saying "James May has backed out due to diary plans and has been replaced by Richard Hammond. If he can't break the record then The Stig will step in". The computer generated crash video was also shown again and they said James arrived at dinner time in his Rolls Royce.
He has a significant brain injury. Medics at Leeds hospital are very optimistic he will surive. No real info on his brain injury though.
Lots of pics and footage of the broken car have been released. I also saw a computer generated clip of the accident on Sky News. There's also been a mobile video aired of Richard Hammond doing an earlier run.
Don't believe anything said in the paper. It also said he was going 315 mph and he hosts Petrolheads, along with several other false claims.
BREAKING NEWS FROM ITV NEWS: Just watched ITV News. Richard Hammond wasn't actually supposed to be driving. James May was originally supposed to be driving but several weeks before backed out, leaving Hammond to do the job. There was also another mobile clip of him on an earlier run aired and footage of a helicopter view showing Richards path of destruction.
Hope Hammond gets well soon. Twice in 2 months now that i've woken up and my mum has told me something i didn't like. First it was Steve Irwin, now it's this. I really hope he's OK. That also means they probarbly replace Hammond for crap Tiff Needell at MPH now.
It was JC, Hamster and Captain Slow at MPH. I was excited about seeing all of them but now they'll replace him.
I've actually stood next to Hamster and got his autograph at a trucking event. That memory keeps coming back right now.
Hopefully he gets better. I think he'll pull through.
Well that's going to take 20 minutes to save, and WMP won't play AVI's without saving them so, I think i'll stick with the good ol "what's that" question?
